Make sure you carry baitrunner reels and a 2 ¾ curve rod in your kit since big carp need to be tackled with good equipment. Braided fishing lines are not allowed in many areas so make sure you carry monofilament lines, or you may not be able to fish in many places. Make sure you carry different types of bait since tiger nuts and certain ground baits aren’t allowed in some lakes.

There are several events for anglers that are held frequently, which include those by private lake owners, the state, and even international groups.
